Healthy Breakfast for an Energetic Day

It is said that one should never skip breakfast in the morning. This is the most important meal in the whole day, in which you can keep yourself healthy by eating a healthy breakfast full stomach.

Many times it happens that we eat anything in a hurry to go to the office. Like butter parantha, noodles prepared in oil or deep fry. Upma is considered a good morning snack as a healthy breakfast across India. Instant Rava-Upma can be made very easily and with very little material. Apart from this, while cooking semolina, you can also make it nutritious by adding boiled vegetables like carrots, pansy, potatoes, tomatoes and green peas. Serve by filling the semolina Upma bowl and then turning it over the plate.

Tips for making semolina Upma when your children come home. You can roast in a large quantity of Rava, store it in an airtight container that keeps the Rava for a long time and does not get fungus. Use it when you want to make instant Rava Upma. Rava Upma is one of the tasty and healthy breakfasts for children.

So let’s quickly tell you a simple recipe of this instant healthy breakfast

Semolina – 180 grams (1 cup)

Oil – 2 tbsp

Peanut – 1 tbsp (roasted)

Mustard seeds – 1/4 tsp

Green chilli – 1 (finely chopped)

Green peas – 1 tbsp

Carrot – 1 (cut into small pieces)

Butter – 1 tbsp

Coriander – 1 tbsp (finely chopped)

Salt – 3/4 tsp or as per taste

To make this healthy breakfast, fry the semolina continuously in a dry pan till it becomes light brown. Take out roasted semolina on a plate.

Put oil in the pan and heat it. Put peanuts in oil and fry them lightly.  After roasting them, take them out on a plate.

Put the mustard seeds in the remaining oil in the pan, let the mustard be roasted lightly. After tempering, add green chillies, chopped carrots, and peas and fry for 2-3 minutes. After this, add semolina and three times its water (3 cups of water) and salt and mix. 

When the semolina starts boiling in water, then stir it with a spoon, the solution will thicken and in a short time, it will look like pudding. Put peanuts in it and cook the Rava Upma for 3-4 minutes while stirring with a spoon.  Add butter from the top and mix it. Also, add green coriander and mix it. Delicious Rava Upma is ready.

Serve the hot Upma with green coriander sauce and eat. If you want, you can also keep it in children’s tiffin, children will like it very much.


Cauliflower or other Vegetables can be added to Upma according to your taste and availability.
